Sefton Youth Inclusion Project

In 2006, the Sefton Youth Inclusion Project identified young people from the area, who were at risk of offending and falling further into a life of anti-social behaviour and petty crime. As a way of changing repeat patterns of offending, a visual arts project was proposed for those selected young people to participate in - firstly to enable them to make a ‘self-made’ film project in a creative environment. Opportunities denied to them previously.
Secondly to garner a sense of esteem and achievement among the participants and finally to produce a creative piece of film which documented the work of the Youth Inclusion Project in Sefton and North Liverpool and the young people’s relationship with it and the local community.
This film follows a group of young people as they go about their activities and community projects organized for them by the YIP staff based on the Croft Estate in Netherton – Liverpool.
